Trucks and pleasure

Coming decades the Waalhaven area will be made available for a new purpose. Instead of a Vinex-neighbourhood, we propose a strategy which starts from the existing wide landscape and the beyond human-scaled sheds. The new landscape will penetrate right through the volumes, so that they can be experienced as a whole and will function as such. In the sheds units will be attached to the roof construction on a Babylonian way, in which small ateliers and studios can create a unique working and living environment. In this way there will be a full use of potential of the RDM and means the forming of a strong base for future developments of the harbour area.
