What happens if in 50 years the sea water level rises increasingly and we conclude it’s not effective anymore to maintain our hyper system of dikes and pumps?  This installation was both an exploration of the scenario’s needed for the evacuation of the Randstad in case of a water flood and an attempt to study the possibilities of interactive large-scale planning. The public was shown a wide screen movie in which they could co-decide how it should end. Afterwards people individually could point out where they would like to life in the new configuration of Holland. Finally, with the opinions of 600.000 visitors, we gradually created ‘The New Map of The Netherlands 2050’.
